Friday's trade deadline draws ever closer. The Pittsburgh Pirates continue to be active, trading veterans for prospects at a rate that would make Billy Beane proud. One of their most intriguing deals had them send 2B Freddy Sanchez to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday - immediately after the Giants' 1-0 win over Pittsburgh in 10 innings. Sanchez had to pick up his stuff and move from the visitors' to the home team's locker room.

4. Saturday: Houston at St. Louis (7:15 p.m., MLBN)

The MLB Network is on the air with the first start since May for righthander Mitchell Boggs (3.22 ERA, 1.75 WHIP). The Astros are 12-4 in their last 16 against starters with a WHIP of 1.30 or above.

5. Friday: Chicago Cubs at Florida (7:10 p.m.)

The Cubs took three of four from the Marlins when they played three months ago at Wrigley Field. Rich Harden (9-8, -2.61 units) is looking for his fourth consecutive quality start.

6. Saturday: Kansas City at Tampa Bay (4:10 p.m., FOX)

Bruce Chen (6.39 ERA, 1.55 WHIP) has only been back a month, and he's already cost the Royals 3.39 units with one win in six games.

7. Friday: Boston at Baltimore (7:05 p.m.)

Lots of juicy trends for the under in this one, like 7-1-1 in Baltimore's last nine games and 9-3-1 in Boston's last 13 on grass.

8. Sunday: L.A. Angels at Minnesota (2:10 p.m.)

Our new No. 1 money team is 10-3 since the All-Star break, and No. 6 money pitcher Jered Weaver (3.64 ERA, 6.33 runs for) is on a personal eight-game over streak.

9. Friday: Arizona at N.Y. Mets (7:10 p.m.)

The Mets (48-51, -3.24 units) have pulled back out of the ditch with four straight wins, and they're 19-7 in their last 26 games against Arizona.

10. Saturday: Seattle at Texas (8:05 p.m.)
