NCAA Basketball Betting Top 25 - Michigan State Spartans
by Bodog Sportsbook | Feb 26 2008

We are bringing you a preview of the top 25 college basketball teams in the nation (according to the current ESPN/USA Today Poll), one a day until Selection Sunday. Today we look at the current No. 15,
Michigan State Spartans.
Strengths: Focus - MSU has always focused on the NCAA Tournament instead of the Big Ten conference tournament but this year will be different. This focus will get them into game shape when the big games come in March. Senior Drew Neitzel realizes this is his last chance for college success; a Big Ten championship ring would be a nice parting gift for his years at MSU. In previous years, depth has been an issue for the Spartans but coach Tom Izzo is able to use a nine- or 10-man rotation without much talent drop-off.
Weaknesses: Turnovers - The Spartans have been giving the ball away too often this season. Lack of size - MSU doesn’t have a dominant big man or a superstar to carry them through; Raymar Morgan is a year away from being dominant at the college level.

The Spartans had a big win over No. 5 ranked Texas but also put up a stinker versus unranked Iowa, scoring only 36 points in the contest. Which Spartans team will show up in the 2008 NCAA Tournament is the big question.
